Solstice Psychiatry
Thoughtful psychiatric care for children, adolescents, and young adults seeking clarity, balance, & lasting change.
At Solstice Psychiatry, care begins with understanding the whole person—not just a diagnosis. I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and collaborative treatment planning for children, adolescents, and adults through age 35.
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, OCD, ADHD, depression, emotional overwhelm, trauma-related symptoms, autism spectrum concerns, or major life transitions, my goal is to help you better understand yourself and create a treatment plan that genuinely fits your life. For children and adolescents, I work collaboratively with parents and caregivers, recognizing that meaningful progress happens when families feel informed, supported, and included in the treatment process.
I take a thoughtful, evidence-based approach that balances clinical expertise with genuine curiosity and compassion. Appointments are never rushed and are designed to help patients—and families when appropriate—feel heard, empowered, and confident in the path forward.
Currently accepting patients ages 6-35 throughout Oregon via secure telehealth.
About me—
Samantha Reis, DNP, PMHNP-BC
As a doctorally trained and board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner educated at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), my approach to care is grounded both in clinical expertise and genuine human connection. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, I worked in residential psychiatric care with children and adolescents experiencing some of the highest levels of psychiatric acuity in the state—experiences that deeply shaped the way I understand resilience, emotional suffering, and the importance of compassionate care.
Today, I work with children, adolescents and young adults navigating anxiety, OCD, ADHD, depression, trauma, neurodivergence, and life's many transitions. I strive to create a calm, supportive place where patients feel safe asking questions, exploring concerns, and working collaboratively toward meaningful change.
When caring for children and adolescents, I enjoy partnering closely with parents and caregivers. I believe families play an essential role in treatment and value helping parents better understand their child’s unique needs while developing practical strategies that support success at home, at school, and everyday life.
Whether we’re pursuing diagnostic clarity, exploring treatment options, or fine-tuning an existing plan, my goal is always the same: to help patients and families feel heard, empowered, and confident in the path forward. .

I practice thoughtful diagnostic clarification, including the ways trauma, neurodivergence, masking, chronic stress, and longstanding emotional patterns can shape mental health over time. My approach is collaborative, affirming, and individualized, with attention to the broader context of each patient’s lived experience. I believe in evidence-based care, which works best when patients feel heard, informed, and actively involved in treatment decisions. Rather than rushed prescribing, I prioritize careful evaluation. I also enjoy working with families and caregivers when appropriate.
